If you carry a firearm for protection I have an assignment for you this weekend. Spend 15 minutes conducting dry fire drills. Practice drawing from the holster. Do not focus on speed. Rather focus on perfect technique. Your draw from the holster must be smooth. Obtain perfect sight alignment. Focus on a perfect pressing of the trigger. After the shot be sure to scan for other threats. Before holstering ask yourself:
1. Is the threat neutralized?
2. Do I need to fire again?
3. Are there other threats to engage?
4. Is it safe to holster?
Never rush to holster your weapon.
Remember, never have any ammunition in the area where you are dry firing and always follow all safety rules.
When you have done this assignment report back with a comment on what you learned or an observation you have regarding dry firing.
